Peer Review Process
Pelita Tech: Journal of Computing and Information Systems implements a rigorous review system to ensure the quality and integrity of all published work. Every submitted manuscript undergoes the following stages:
- Initial Screening (Pre Review)
Each submission is first evaluated by the Editorial Team to ensure it meets basic requirements. This includes checking whether the topic aligns with the journal’s focus and scope, verifying the level of similarity using Turnitin or iThenticate with a maximum threshold of 20 percent, and ensuring compliance with the author guidelines and journal template. Manuscripts that do not meet these criteria will be rejected or returned to the authors for correction before proceeding to the review stage. - Double Blind Peer Review
The journal applies a double blind review process in which the identities of both authors and reviewers are kept confidential. Each manuscript is reviewed by at least two independent experts in the field of informatics to ensure an objective and unbiased evaluation. - Review Criteria
Reviewers assess manuscripts based on several key aspects. These include originality, which evaluates whether the research offers new insights or solutions; methodological rigor, which examines the soundness of the technical implementation such as algorithms, system design, or data analysis; clarity, which considers how well the paper is written and structured; and relevance, which determines the significance of the research within the current technological landscape. - Review Outcomes
Based on the reviewers’ recommendations, the Editor will make one of the following decisions. A submission may be accepted without revision if it meets all requirements. Minor revisions may be requested, in which case the paper is typically reviewed again by the Editor. Major revisions may require the manuscript to be resubmitted for a second round of peer review. A submission may also be declined if it lacks novelty or contains significant technical weaknesses. - Final Decision
The final decision regarding publication is made by the Editor in Chief, taking into account the reviewers’ evaluations and the quality of revisions made by the authors.
